Makhadzi Opens Up About Financial Struggles in Candid Interview
South African star Makhadzi recently shared her financial struggles during an interview with Mac G and Sol Phenduka.
Despite her success at the BET Awards in Los Angeles, where she won the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act award, Makhadzi revealed she had to borrow money for the flight as she had no funds of her own.
During the interview, Makhadzi expressed gratitude for her win, noting that it would have been devastating to travel 24 hours only to lose.
Mac G then asked her about borrowing money, leading Makhadzi to explain her financial situation further.
She disclosed that she is currently battling tax debt, which has consumed all her earnings.
Months ago, Makhadzi made headlines for owing R2.7 million in taxes. She mentioned that every cent she earns goes toward settling this debt, leaving her unable to afford international travel expenses.
