Tragic: Remains Of Missing 6-Year-Old Boy Found In Someone Else’s Grave

Heartbreaking Discovery: Remains of Missing 6-Year-Old Junior Mabandla Found in Grave

Exactly a month after Junior Mabandla went missing, police in Mpumalanga have discovered the remains of the 6-year-old boy buried in a grave.

Junior vanished on 3 June in Pienaar after leaving home to buy sweets with friends.

The grim discovery was made on Wednesday, leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old man connected to the case.

According to Mpumalanga provincial police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the suspect is currently receiving medical treatment under police guard after being assaulted by community members.

Mdhluli reported that community members had apprehended the suspect and informed the police, linking him to Junior’s disappearance.

The suspect also confessed to involvement in the disappearance of a 3-year-old girl, who was sought by her family on 3 July 2024.

The remains of Junior were found in a shopping bag along with his clothes, buried in someone else’s grave.

The police faced a tense situation upon arrival due to the large number of gathered community members. Despite the challenging conditions, they eventually reached the grave site.

Initially treated as a missing person’s case, it has now been reclassified as a murder investigation.

The motive for the murder remains unknown, and the suspect, still under police guard, has yet to be formally charged.

Additionally, police plan to exhume the remains of the 3-year-old girl who went missing on Wednesday.

The suspect had reportedly told the community that he had killed and buried a child in another family’s yard and later revealed the location of Junior’s burial site.
