‘Skeem Saam’ Reportedly Loses Over 150K Viewers, Mzansi’s Reaction Mixed: “Serves Them Right”
Skeem Saam Loses 150K Viewers—Fans Blame the Storyline
Uh-oh! Skeem Saam is facing some challenges as the popular soapie reportedly lost over 150,000 viewers.
Despite still holding a strong position among South Africa’s top three most-watched soapies, the show has seen a dip in its viewership.
According to Twitter (X) user Jabu_Macdonald, Skeem Saam had over 4.3 million viewers as of 1 July 2024, trailing behind Generations: The Legacy and Uzalo, which hold the second and first spots, respectively.

The recent addition of Thobela FM’s Faith Choshi to the cast was expected to add flair and drama to the show, but it seems it hasn’t been enough to stop the decline.
Many fans aren’t surprised by the drop in numbers and are pointing fingers at the show’s storyline, which they believe is the main reason for the decrease in viewership.
